Office workers maliciously comply with manager's strict email requirements, forcing the policy to be reversed after a flurry of email spamming: 'The outcome? Inbox mess'

When it comes to certain operational structures in the workplace, following strict protocol is necessary. However, there comes a point when managers tend to lose sight of what's really important.

This office manager decided to send a lengthy email to everyone on the team, requiring them to use a specific format for every single form of email communication. This format included a specific structure for subject headings, email signatures, and copy for the body of each email. It was a bit excessive. 

Instead of focusing on ways to support employees on a day-to-day basis, this manager opted to make everything take longer. Sometimes, people just wanted to message one another about when they were taking lunch. Now, they had to adopt this ridiculous email structure for even the smallest of exchanges.

    All it took for this policy to be reversed was to follow it to the letter. Let that information serve as a reminder that sometimes, managers' policies are so ridiculous that you don't even need to contest with them in order to watch them fail.
